Ash Welwood

I’m Ash—an Artist, Therapeutic Art Practitioner, Movement Guide, Creative Director, and Wellness Consultant. My work mixes creative expression and mindful movement to support people seeking a connected and healthy relationship to themselves and their bodies.

For over 20 years, I’ve practiced yoga, and for over a decade, Pilates. I’m a certified Strala Yoga Guide and trained Stott Pilates Instructor, integrating mindful movement with somatic psychology, expressive arts therapy, and trauma-sensitive practices. My work reimagines health—exploring how movement and creativity foster healing and transformation.

I co-direct Radiant Bodies, a community organization training facilitators and supporting individuals with body image struggles, and am a mentor for the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Services at HSC Winnipeg PsycHealth Centre.

As a Creative Director, my work bridges design, storytelling, and immersive technology to create experiences that support connection and wellbeing across industries—from health and fashion to sustainability and architecture. I’ve studied a range of design disciplines and explored diverse creative traditions. Throughout this journey, my experiences traveling across cultures and landscapes have shaped my understanding of healing and the interconnection of mind, body, and spirit. I also created EcoFuture Earth, a platform curating sustainable design resources that promote human and environmental health.

At Ash Welwood Studio, my art practice spans painting, collage, and digital media—exploring themes of love and grief. Inspired by the natural world and layered with symbolism, my visual worlds flow between landscape and abstraction, expressing imagination and hope as agents of change.

At its heart, my work is about connection—to self, to others, and to the Earth. My vision is to harness the magic of movement and power of creativity to awaken deeper awareness and cultivate healing in ways that are personal and collective.
